I’ve felt a lot of natural uncertainty about how to show up here, how to represent myself, and how it might come across. For me, that usually means hiding, waiting, letting the difficult thing pass by while I find a more comfortable seat to watch from.

Doing something (roughly) ten times in a row may not seem like a big deal to most people. But taking a deep breath and sitting with the discomfort is really… where we find the person we are longing to be.

For me, every step I take facing the things that are overwhelming or intimidating or straight up scary, is a step I take out of the darkness and into the light.

The more I read these works and learn about the experiences of the authors who have created them, I find evidence of this pattern all over the place.

This is a place to find enlightenment. And it sure doesn’t hurt that we get to enjoy ourselves so much along the way ☀️✨

I was just saying to one of our contributors,

I started off this project with a sense of buzzy enthusiasm, thinking how fun it would be to gain some more visibility for the authors featured here.

It’s turning into something more than that. This work… it’s sacred.

I feel the responsibility and privilege of bringing these creations to light.

Let’s remind the world why it’s so great to be open to these things!

Non-Fiction Guidelines:

We are hoping to promote the courage and vulnerability required for meaningful intimacy, alongside a celebration of outright sexuality. Our hope is that by promoting these elements in the same space, we can start to dissolve the barriers in both directions.

So, we’re not asking for non-fiction personal sex memoirs (unless that’s your thing). We’re looking for pieces that educate and encourage people to overcome their past, go outside of their comfort zone, and seek meaningful connection in ways that have lost focus in today’s society.

Fiction Guidelines:

High quality erotica and spicy romance, and even less spicy fiction, are all welcome! We are looking for stories that show joyful intimacy in a variety of ways.

Let’s Avoid: Shame, guilt, fear, anger, forbidden/withholding energy, venting/retaliation, unnecessary drama, vices feeding unhealthy interpersonal patterns, hate speech or intolerance of any kind, marginalization or belittling, dissociation or binging behaviors, injuries of any kind, etc.

Here are some examples of themes you might not expect to be included, as long as they are portrayed in a legal, mindful, healthy scenario: BDSM, voyeurism/cuckold (consensual/not humiliating), reasonable age gap, paranormal, fantasy, polyamory, cruising, harems, breeding, lactation, interspecies…

What you can expect from us:

• We will review and curate your submissions into feel-good collections that will be published in the weekly Sunshine Erotica newsletter!

• We will let you know if your submission is accepted within 7 days, and we will let you know as soon as we assign a publication date to your piece!

• If you would prefer to submit anonymously, and your work is accepted, we are happy to publish it as a standalone article in the Sunshine Erotica archive and then use that link in the publication!

• We can also publish a standalone article for you in our archive that does include your byline, if you’ve written a piece you’d like to be credited for, but don’t want to include it in your own catalogue. As our audience grows, this may also be a good way to expose your work in a new channel!

• We will share and promote you and your creations with enthusiasm!
